With the internship program from KT Care Foundation, May Thinn Nandar (Alice) started wroking on 9th December, 2019. During her internship, she is responsible for the data management for different programs of KT Care Foundation. She had finished her university with Law specialization from Dagon University. Besides working as a finance officer at American Center Student Council in past time, she also volunteered at Doh Eain. In January 2019, she got Diploma in English Proficiency from SEAMEO chat and currently attending diploma class of Network Communication at Yangon University of Distance Education. Alice who loves volunteering aspires to become a IT technician working in NGO in her future.
KT Care Foundation conducted a surveying session at ZKG Factory in Mingalardon Township On 17th December, 2019. The main purpose of conducting survey is to be able to provide better workshops necessary to the factory workers in the future. KT Care’s survey team asked peer educators who participated in the previous trainings of KT Care about ‘understanding of the topics discussed in past, feedback about the workshops and what we can provide them in the future’. For the surveying session, KT Care had called for volunteers and gave training on 16th December, 2019.
Today, KT Care Foundation donated ice-cream, butter cake and Christmas postcards to children who are being treated at Yangon Blood and Cancer Center in Yangon.
In this month, KT care foundation has supported 79 years-old Daw () who lives together with her husband in Hlaing township. Every day, she has to wake up around 2 AM to pick up Jasmine flowers from Thirimingalar market as her income comes from selling flowers. Although she is old, she has no choice but to make a living by herself since she does not have any child to look after her. KT Care had supported her financially since it is difficult to cover her living expenses and medical bills by her income alone.
A scholar from KT Care, Nyan Bhone Htet was born in Thatkelthaung Village located in Nga Pu Taw Township. He is now in his second year of studying English in Pathein University. His parents are government employees from education industry. Due to some financial difficulties, he had a hard time while studying. In 2018, the year when he found out about the scholarship program of KT Care, he applied to be one of the scholars and he was chosen by KT Care. He told that ‘it became more convenient for him as he has fewer things to look back and focuses on studying’ after he got financial support from KT Care Foundation.
