One of the scholars of KT Care Foundation is Zan Wint Naing who was born is Nga Pu Taw Township. Despite studying at a small village, he was able to pass the matriculation exam with outstanding marks which led him to study medicine at university. Before he was awarded a scholarship from KT Care, his mother supported him financially. As her income is not enough to support both her family and the expensive fees of medical school, KT Care Foundation decided to choose him as one of scholarship awardees. He is currently in the third year of medical study in University of Medicine (2). With the support of KT Care, he can pay school related fees and focus on his studies without worrying about his financial status.
Meet our new field assistant, Ko Thein Htike!
He joined our team on 4th September 2019. As a field assistant, he is responsible for implementation of ongoing projects such as cleft lip and palate free operations and Thet Kal Thaung village development centre operation. Before joining our team, he worked for community driven community development project run by UNDP in Ayeyarwaddy division. His major expertise is community mobilization works in development sector mainly livelihood program. He graduated from the University of Pathein in 2013 with BA in Myanmar. He is a father of two and he likes travelling.
(xxx) was born in Mya Yoe Gyi village which is located in Ayeyarwady division. Her parents are working as odd job workers and sometimes her father earns from fishing in the stream. Since their daily income is merely enough for daily food, they couldn’t dream about providing treatment to their daughter. When they first found out about KT Care’s cleft lip and palate program from former beneficiary of KT Care, they were relieved and happy that their girl can finally get a proper treatment. Her mother said, “Before the treatment, I was worried that my daughter will feel inferior to others. Thanks to KT Care,my daughter can enjoy her life fully now.”
On 27 August, KT Care Foundation provided monthly training at ZKG factory. The topic of this training was about waterborne diseases as many people are suffering from these diseases in this monsoon season. A total of 37 peer educators from the factory participated in this training. Project officer from KT Care started the training by recapping the last month’s topic and introducing the new topic. After that, participants were requested to answer the test about waterborne diseases to know their level of understanding about the topic. Later, KT Care’s project officer shared about the qualities of clean water, symptoms, prevention and treatment of diarrhea,malaria and dengue fever. Participants were eager to learn the new topic and responded with questions.

Under the guidance of Deputy Director, Program Manager is responsible for the program implementation, including planning, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, accountability and compliance. He/ She plays a key role in direct supervision and capacity building of program unit staff. He/ She will work closely with Finance Officer for support functions and Communication Officer to facilitate media related functions. Additionally, his/her main function includes to support Deputy Director in new proposal development, visibility enhancement, and being responsive to CSR activities of the mother company, KT Group of companies.
